Nissan NP200

The Nissan NP200 is available in two variants in South Africa, both powered by a 1.6-litre unleaded petrol engine. You can choose from various trims and accessory options to suit your needs. Every NP200 variant is a dependable pickup, offering car-like handling with the capabilities of a light commercial vehicle. However, we recommend the 1.6 8V Base A/C with Safety Pack, as it comes with additional features such as air-conditioning and a safety pack, which are not standard on the base model.

The top variant previously sold in South Africa is the Nissan NP200 1.6 16V High Spec Petrol. It includes features like driver and passenger airbags, ABS with EBD, height-adjustable front seatbelts and headrests, remote central locking, a roll bar, front power windows, a rear sliding window, passenger sun visor with a vanity mirror, AM/FM radio with CD/MP3 player, and two speakers.

Standard safety features across the NP200 range include ventilated disc front brakes, rear drum brakes, a collapsible steering column, an anti-theft encoded safety system activated by transponder, and the Nissan DataDot anti-theft identification system. Variant-specific features include driver and/or passenger airbags, ABS with EBD, remote central locking, and a roll bar.

The NP200 is equipped with a 1.6-litre 8V petrol engine. A 16V version was previously available but is no longer sold as a new model in South Africa.

The 1.6 8V petrol engine delivers 64kW of power at 5500rpm and 128Nm of torque at 3000rpm. The 1.6 16V petrol engine generates 77kW at 5750rpm and 148Nm of torque at 3750rpm. For a detailed breakdown, refer to the latest brochure.

We recommend using Castrol MAGNATEC, which was voted South Africa’s favorite motor lubricant in 2018. It offers excellent protection for your engine.

The NP200 comes standard with the following tyres depending on the trim level: 15” Steel (bowl type), 15” Steel, or 15” Alloy.

The NP200 features an 800kg payload, carried in its spacious, rubberised load box. The load box dimensions are 1807mm (length), 1374mm (width), and 535mm (height), with a total load volume of 1250 litres.

As the NP200 is classified as an LCV, 0–100 km/h acceleration figures have not been officially tested or released by Nissan.

New Nissan NP200s generally have minimal mileage, with a few kilometres added during the delivery process. If you feel the mileage on a new vehicle is excessive, please reach out to us to address your concerns.

The NP200 uses an SMF (Sealed Maintenance Free) battery, which is a fully sealed unit requiring no water replenishment.

Despite its rugged build, the NP200 offers a surprisingly refined interior with trim-dependent features like air-conditioning, a CD/MP3 audio system, power windows and door locks, and a slide-opening rear window. It also has the largest cabin space in its class, combining style and comfort.

The NP200 is available in seven vibrant colours: White, Bright Silver, Thermal Gold, Techno Grey, Infinite Black, Claret Red, and Starling Blue. These colours ensure it stands out, making it ideal for both fleet and personal use.
